The Essex County Emergency Rental Assistance Program is available for renters and landlords who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as rental assistance for tenants who have past due PSE&G utility bills. Those applicants who are eligible to apply for funds include individuals or families impacted by COVID-19 through unemployment, decreased household income or those confronted with some other financial hardship, for example receiving past due utility bills. Eligible applicants must meet the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) income guidelines and be at or below 80% of the area median income.
