The Essex County Division of Senior Services, located at 465 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. Rm#102, Newark, New Jersey 07102, is the primary center for planning, program development and coordination of services to persons aged 60 and over in the county. As the designated Area Agency on Aging for Essex County, the Division channels approximately $13M in federal and state funds to community-based agencies and in-house programs to provide a wide variety of direct services to older adults. Services funded from sources other than the Older Americans Act (Casino Revenue, Social Services Block Grant, Statewide Respite Program) are extended to disabled individuals under age 60. The Division’s services are targeted to individuals with the greatest social and economic need.
